This beautiful five bent Dutch frame barn was built originally circa 1790 near the town of Altamont, New York.
In December of 2006, Heritage Restorations restored and relocated the barn to a ranch near Alexandria, LA. With the 16’ x 41’ shed addition and the multi-leveled loft system, the finished barn has over 3500 square feet of living space.
Heritage Restorations supplied antique materials and custom mill work for the interior finish construction of the frame. Faded red barn siding for the ceiling, antique rough sawn long leaf pine for the walls, and cypress exterior barn doors complement the rustic beauty of the hand hewn frame. The barn's huge hand hewn hemlock anchor beams, with their traditional rounded through-tenons, are the focal point of the frame.
Hand-forged ironwork from Heritage Forge, including strap hinges, flush bolts, door latches and hand railing, add beauty and authenticity to the restoration.
