This rather rough looking exterior masked a beautiful Dutch barn originally built in upstate New York circa 1770. The hand-hewn hemlock anchor beams in this barn are almost two feet thick, 12 inches wide, and 28 feet long.
This restoration included using much of the barn’s original threshing floor. The horizontal wide plank white pine siding is also traditional.
The barn now functions as the office for a family cattle ranch near Sealy, Texas.
