At Heritage Restorations, we proudly offer a full-service architectural and general contracting service. But if you already have an architect in mind for your project, our general contractors will happily work alongside your architect to bring your vision to life.

Throughout your restoration and rebuild, we’ll help you stay connected to everyone that’s working on your project, including suppliers, vendors, and craftspeople.

Our team will also be the go-between for you and the subcontractors hired to manage the more specialized aspects of your project, like plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.

Most importantly, our team will be there every step of the way to ensure your historic timber frame is erected safely and on time.

How we breathe life back into your old barn or timber-framed building

Our general contractors ensure your project runs smoothly from beginning to end and will work with your architectural team to carry out a safe, creative, and respectful restoration of your timber-framed building. Take a closer look at our process to get an idea of how your barn restoration project will go.

1. Get In Touch

First things first, get in touch with our team to go over what you want for your barn restoration. Our team of contractors will work with your architect to get the results you want for your restoration. We also have our own architectural services to help you design the perfect barn restoration.

2. Project Proposal

After you’ve drawn up your final designs and specifications with your chosen architect, we’ll get to work on your property's transformation. This begins with a project proposal, where we’ll outline your project's scheduling, cost, and labor details.

3. Ordering Materials

Now that you’ve signed off on the project, our team can start ordering the parts for your barn restoration. As part of our general contracting service, we’ll supply all the materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary for your project to succeed.

4. Restoration

The restoration begins with overseeing the transportation of the beams and barn parts to the restoration yard. We'll supervise the de-nailing, cleaning, and fumigation of your original timber, and our team will ensure the extra wood used matches your barn's species, color, and texture. This is the key to creating an authentic finish.

5. Reconstruction

Now that all the parts are restored and gathered, our team will oversee the reconstruction of your barn or building. We’ll work to perfect your design and bring your dream barn conversion to life. We’ll work closely with you to ensure everything is done correctly so you can move in as soon as it’s ready.

6. Completion

Your restored barn or timber-framed building is now ready to move into. We’ll do last-minute checks on everything, and then you’ll be able to start living in the comfort of your luxury heritage barn, restored uniquely to your specification.

What Our Past Customers Have To Say

We adore our “Heritage Barn” and we proudly show it off on all occasions. We have had it included in house/garden tours. And it has been part of an article written about its surrounding gardens and will soon find it’s way into a coffee table book on Connecticut gardens. It has been the sight of family parties, benefits for our philanthropic causes and many other occasions. In every case, each person walking into the barn is rendered speechless!!! We are now hanging contemporary art there to show it off against its beautiful walls. Our barn is truly a work of art and it has been a joy doing this project.

We purchased a Dutch Barn frame to form the heart of our home in Telluride, Colorado. From beginning to end, we had a wonderful experience with Heritage Barns. We watched the men from Heritage raise our frame after a big snow storm. It was wonderful to watch these talented craftsmen carefully construct our frame. Our home is now complete, and we could not be happier. Every room has exposed beams, constantly reminding us of the history of our structure and the talent and care taken by Heritage to make it possible.

M. & F. B. - Telluride, CO

We could not be happier or more pleased with our barn and our working relationship. The barn has transformed our business. The project turned out great and now the barn is the number one reason people choose our facility for their functions.

M. M. - Barr Mansion Dutch Barn, Austin, TX

Just a note to say how impressed I was with your crew that erected our barn. It was refreshing to see a team of craftsmen work in unison with honor and pride. Throughout the process every detail was addressed and every question answered with a smile. They certainly exceeded my expectations.

R. P. - Fairhope, AL

What can I say but our deep thanks to you and the Heritage Team for a most unique place and a process that was more fun, so carefully managed and so above our wildest dreams. We could not have imagined those beams we saw in Waco, hewn 250 years ago, could become such a overwhelmingly beautiful environment and so rich in history. We are thrilled!

We recently had a wedding for 150 in the barn and people are still talking about the absolute beauty of the beams and frame and the "specialness" of being inside such a place. Keeping the authenticity of the original design and construction (for the most part) has made the barn "a place": of history, of fun and entertainment and a place just to be. We spend every night we are home in the barn so our main home is rapidly becoming our guest home! (:

Your team was amazing from our first discussion about "should we build a barn?" through the construction process. Steve, Tony and the rest of our architect/builder team feel as we do. How many times in a construction project do the team so significantly exceed expectations coming in on budget and ahead of schedule. And your team that we hosted at our home during the 'barn raising', couldn't have been more respectful, appreciative and fun.

We look forward to doing another one!

C. A. - Woodside, CA

Our Heritage Barn experience was pleasant from beginning to end. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they would do it. It was an exciting experience and we love the barn. We also became friends with the folks at Heritage Barns.

B. W. - Fredericksburg, TX

What an inspiration to watch you and your crew of 6 work in perfect harmony together raising the barn on a very hot, hot day in middle Alabama. We could not be more pleased with the end results. Your crew were all so polite, kind, efficient, and professional. Thank you for everything you did for us. We will be happy to highly recommend the Heritage Restoration Company. In great appreciation,

A. F. - Selma Lake Retreat, Selma, AL

Having Heritage Restorations here to put up our barn is a family memory like no other. We are truly blessed to have this barn. The beams and workmanship are remarkable. The whole process was smooth and rewarding. We hope to do it again.

C. K. - Helotes, TX

The barn is everything we hoped it would be. It is fabulous. It has set a magnificent tone for the rest of the project! I just want to personally thank everyone at Heritage for the wonderful experience we had with your company. Keep up the great service.

B. & S .H. - Riverbend Barn Home, Medina, TX

The products and services provided by Heritage Restorations could not have been better. In addition to the barn frame, we ordered stairs, counters, and additional beams. [The Heritage Restorations staff] was always available and provided excellent, timely, and professional advice. We are extremely pleased with our barn project.
